Clogging Lesson One - 29th January 2017

Welcome to our new dancers! Thank you for joining our group - we hope you enjoyed your first class. You will get hours of entertainment value from learning how to clog. A big special welcome to our youngest dancer Bella - who is only 6 years old!!! So great to see!

Here it is as promised - your lesson one teach video. We have broken this down into 3 parts so you can follow along and practice. Please if you are having any issues or would just like to clarify anything contact Michael or Rachelle or discuss this with them at your next lesson. As Michael said on Sunday, we don't leave anyone behind so if you need the help please speak up!

New Uniforms!

Wow! We are just in love with these new uniforms! We will be taking orders for these in the coming weeks. Please note we must have a minimum of 10 of each style to order... 

So have a think about which style you would like. These uniforms can be worn weekly or at demonstrations and also when we attend other clogging functions around the region to identify our awesome team of Cloggers!

We will also be placing orders for clogging shoes in the coming weeks as well. We have a supplier on the sunshine coast who stocks white shoes with taps and the taps by themselves. You can choose to either order a set of these or buy your own shoes and have the taps attached. 

There is no pressure to place an order for either shoes or uniforms, you may were your own choice of clothing/shoes and should you already have tap dancing shoes, you are most welcome to use these to save on cost. This is just a overview of what is available.

Welcome to a New Year! Michael and Rachelle are busy planning the calendar for the coming year - it's going to be amazing!
Classes start in the following order:
Friday 13th January - Advanced Clogging 5pm
Sunday 15th January - Basic Clogging 5.30pm, Intermediate Clogging 6.30pm

Don't forget we are attending the Gracemere Australia Day celebrations at Cedric Archer Park - Demo will be at 2pm. More details will be announced soon.

The following will help any Clogger learn the Basic movements of Clogging.
This information will also be permanently saved on the following tab of this website - Video Lessons.
It will especially be helpful to those dancers who haven't started from the first lesson to get their feet under them. Of course we are here to help you in anyway so please feel free to contact us or approach us at lessons for more help.

In Australia, Clogging is governed by Clogging Australia. 

The website has a copy of many of the cue sheets for dances 

we will teach and you can look at these anytime.

At the end of each video the teacher Fran Tellor will mention going to her website to purchase items such as DVD's and Shoes. They are an American group therefore if you would like to purchase shoes or other items please contact us so we can arrange purchases from our Australian Supplier.

Lesson One: Learn Rhythm and Basic Movements such as Step, 

Basic (without double toe step), Double Basic and Triple.

Lesson Two: Double Toes, Double Toe Steps, Basics, Double Basic & Triple.

Lesson Three: Basic, Triple, Double Basic, Routine: Boogie Basic (same as our Rocking Basic),  Fancy Double, Brush up & Rocking Chair. (also how to turn a Rocking Chair)

Lesson Four: Clogover Vine (slightly different to the Australian Version but has the same steps)

Drag, Heel Flap, Turkey, Pivot (same as our Basketball Turn).
